The 116th Annual General Meeting of the Club will be held in person at the City Chambers, High Street, Edinburgh EH1 1YJ on Wednesday, 20 September 2023 at 7.00pm. The minutes are available here.

10. Other Competent Business

John McAleese (co-opted November 2020) retires as a Council Member in November 2023 at the end of his three-year term. Mike Harrison (Treasurer) and Pat Jones (Publicity Officer) stand down at the end of many years’ service to the Club.

Any member wishing to make a nomination for an office-bearer or an ordinary member of Council is invited to send the name of the nominee together with a note of their agreement to stand for election to the Secretary, Derrick Johnstone ( by Wednesday, 13 September.

The AGM will be followed by:

1) the announcement of successful applicants to the Jean Guild Grants programme

2) a talk by Henry Sullivan, Information Asset Manager, City of Edinburgh Council, responsible for the City Archives.

Henry will describe the current activities of the Archives and introduce proposals for the celebration, ‘900 Years of the City of Edinburgh’ in 2024.
