Share in our passion for the history and heritage of our capital.
What are the benefits?
You will be made very welcome. We hope you broaden and deepen your interest in Edinburgh history and make new friends and acquaintances.
Each year you receive a copy of our authoritative, illustrated journal, the Book of the Old Edinburgh Club.
You will be invited to our regular programmes of lectures and visits, including our annual Members Evening. If you cannot attend in person, you can view streams of our talks live and afterwards.
Take advantage of the resources on our website and follow us on social media for more news about the history of Edinburgh.
We value your support in helping us pursue our aims in promoting Edinburgh history, not least through our range of projects.

Our membership year runs from 1 September. If you wish to join us during the membership year between April and August, after our lecture series has ended, you will benefit from these rates until the end of August the following year. You can purchase the Book of the Old Edinburgh Club published in the year of your joining at a specially reduced rate of £10.00 per copy.
The Club is funded by member subscriptions, Gift Aid relief where a declaration has been made by UK taxpayers, and donations and legacies from members and well-wishers.
We are registered as a charity with the Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator (No. SC006177). Allowing us as a charity to claim Gift Aid brings us an extra 25% income on top of your subscription.
